PIMLICO, Md., May 3.— The stake-a-day program at the Pimlico course of the Maryland Jockey Club continues Thursday when juveniles hold the center of the stage in the four and one-half furlongs Masquerader Purse. This is fashioned under allowances and it has ,500 added. Six youngsters in four interests have been named for the special, the three that are coupled being Imprudent, Nosy and Arden Lass, the first two of which race in the silks and interests of E. K. Bryson, and the latter for Jouett Shouse. The trio loom as very stout favorites. The small field is accounted for by the fact that many of the two-year-olds quartered here are coughing. Imprudent, by reason of her impressive victory in the Aberdeen Stakes at Havre de Grace recently, rates favoritism over this band. The daughter of Whiskalong and Rash Promise, which also won her previous start, appears to be a miss possessed of quality and should be close despite the fact that the conditions of the race compel her to carry 119 pounds, top weight. Closest to the favorite at the finish of the Aberdeen came her stablemate Nosy and this youngster appears to rate the call to again occupy the runner-up position. The Jouett Shouse representative, Arden Lass, trailed the field of hte Aberdeen. Among the other starters are Skin Deep, an untried son of Balko and Superficial, which will represent Alfred G. Vanderbilt. Clockers report that the colt has trained excellently and is well thought of by connections. Hal Price Headley is sending Third Covey to the post here. This juvenile has done his racing at Keeneland and will have to show improvement to make his presence felt. The only other starter, Cockerel, im-I pressed in one victory, but disappointed at later askings and will also be obliged to display improved prowess to menace the favored pair.
