MOLLY FLY, much the best and away fast, was racing close up under strong restraint when she bore out badly leaving the back stretch, continued to race wide thereafter and, rallying Strongly in the final eighth, overtook the leaders and was drawing clear at the end. BUCKET HEAD was taken to the inside in the first eighth, continued to save ground when racing to the front and opened up a commanding advantage in the stretch, but quit badly in the last eighth. MALINDA B., taken between horses much of the race, steadily improved her position after the first quarter and was racing in resolute fashion at the end. GENERAL R. was under vigorous riding from the start and began to falter before going five-eighths. RED MOSS had a rough trip. DUNVEGAN, a strong factor from the start and kept in hand for almost throe-quarters, responded With much energy when called upon and, after taking command in the stretch, continued boldly to the t;end. JADVA, also well up from the start, was under vigorous riding after reaching the last five sixteenths and held on well. ALUP had to race wide throughout and showed a good effort. DELOVELY moved up with a rush on the inside, was in close quarters on the turn, made a mild rally when clear, but tired in the drive. TEXAS ROSE was in close quarters repeatedly and might have been a stronger factor with better luck. MISS LIZZIE began to tire after three-quarters. PLUCKY BYRD moved up between horses, drew out into a good load on the turn and tired in the late stages, but was not seriously endangered. KATES KITTEN, forced to lose considerable ground and slow to respond, rallied in the stretch, but did not threaten the winner. ROCEMUS began to move up after reaching the turn and held on well in the drive. OURS had no mishaps. ODDESA UPSET showed a fair effort. MY CREST lost much ground. BOBBIN quit badly. SLEEPY TOM, making his first start and away fast, raced with CHANDERA under mild restraint to the stretch, took command when placed to urging and tired, but stalled off SPORTS WRITER. The latter, kept under vigorous riding early, but taken in hand on the turn, closed well under light pressure and was wearing down the winner. CHANDERA had speed under rushing tactics, raced wide on the stretch turn and began to tire before reaching the last eighth. SLAVIC showed speed in spots, but was never a serious threat to the leaders. AZAFRAN, away very slowly, was under brisk urging throughout, but was always held safe. MASCOT broke slowly. MONTS1N, taken in hand after taking a contending position with a rush in the first three-sixteenths, came around FLYING UP when responding with good energy to light pressure in the stretch, withstood BALA ORMONTS rush and galloped out a mile in l-M.i. BALA ORMONT, eased back-slightly before reaching the turn, secured room on the inside when improving her position approaching the stretch, came out in the last quarter and, after closing boldly, galloped out a mile in 1:41*3. TORCH STICK, away fast, but allowed to drop far out of it, swung to the middle of the track in the stretch, made up ground in the last three-sixteenths and raced out a mile in 1:41. FLYING UP displayed high speed in the early pacemaking, began to tire before reaching the last eighth and drifted out in the late stages. STAR LINA had no excuses. MAETOWN showed little under a timid ride. EPIDOR, fractious at the post where he was much used, broke fast, but did not extend himself in the running. DOWNY PILLOW, away slowly, raced very wide while moving into command with a rush, was taken in hand after reaching the turn and, under occasional light urging in the final quarter, continued well to win with something left. LYNN dropped back slightly rounding the turn, was racing well when eased before going to the inside as DRURY LANE veered out in the stretch and, closing fast, overtook DRURY LANE in the last few strides. The latter had good speed from the start, was racing well when she suddenly swerved in the stretch and held on fairly well when straight in the last sixteenth, but failed to withstand LYNN. WHIM WHAM showed a good performance from a slow beginning. I DO BELIEVE improved her position gradually for a half mile, then tired. VALDINA BESS was outrun. STAR BANNER, outrun early, began_ to move up after reaching the final half mile, was taken to the outside on the stretch turn, closed with determination under strong riding and got to the front soon after reaching the last eighth, but drew clear very slowly. CRIUS, probably best and racing wide throughout, was sent up gradually on the lower turn, was taken under snug restraint after getting to the front, lost command when his rider failed to not eSTAR BANNER racing on the outside and could not retrieve it, although he raced well when urged in the last fifty yards. DUSKY PRINCE tired after rearhing the stretch, but outstayed CHANCE STAR. The latter had speed and was nicely rated, but failed to stay when placed to a_ drive. INVINCIBLE had no mishaps.
