1 BAY MEADOWS TURF NOTES | The New Orleans Handicap winner, Chance Sweet, is expected to see action here shortly. Another star at New Orleans, Bachiller, is likewise expected to see silks within the next two weeks. Mrs. James F. Waters crack sprinter, Orientalist, is training well after a lay-off, and will tackle the leading sprinters here shortly. Orientalist ran the fastest six furlongs of the Tanforan meeting, reeling off the distance in 1:11. Trainer Art Goldblatt has taken over the horses of the Kozinsky Brothers to train. The stable consists of Amor Brujo, Mr. Finn and Better Bet. E. H. Beezley, who formerly trained for the Kozinsky Brothers is planning on shipping his stable to Omaha. Red Chalk, a four-year-old gelding from the R. C. Stable, will be layed up for a short while. Red Chalk suffered an injured leg while being walked back to the stable after working out on the track. C. Shockley, the man responsible for importing many horses from the Argentine, registered two head Wednesday at Bay Meadows. They are Bachiller and Baldad. Schockley raced at New Orleans during the past winter. Racing secretary M. H. Morrison wishes to call attention of horsemen that the nomina* tions for the Golden Gate and Bay Meadows Handicaps close Saturday, May 6. The Golden Gate will be run May 13 and the Bay Meadows on Charity Day, May 21. Weights will be released Wednesday, May 10.
