I CHURCHILL DOWNS HANDICAP Nine Capable Sprinters to Furnish Highlight of Downs Sport This Afternoon — Murphy Entry. LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 3.— The third stake of the week and the fourth of the meeting will be offered at Churchill Downs tomorrow afternoon when the ,500 added Churchill Downs Handicap will have its second running. Of the seventy nominations, only nine accepted the weights this morning, but it is an evenly matched field and will bring out the leading speedsters here for a run over seven furlongs. Mrs. Louise Hickmans Arabs Arrow, winner of the historic Clark Handicap, tops the field under 119 pounds, and among those to oppose him will be Smith G. Bakers Janice, which defeated a fine band in the Cherokee Park Handicap on Monday. Janice will carry 106 pounds. The sprint will bring W. E. Boeings Air Chute into Kentucky competition for the first time and the western racer will pack 108 pounds. OTHER ENTRANTS. Last Message, winner of the Bowman Field Purse, and Knee Deep, which finished second to her; Bernard F., triumphant in three of four essays at Oaklawn Park, but a disappointment at Keeneland; Kings Blue, Three Bangs and Manie OHara complete the field. Arabs Arrow won the inaugural running of the stake last spring and his brilliant triumph in the Clark Handicap probably will cause him to be installed a well-backed favorite.
