CANADIANS REINSTATE TRIO Suspensions of Five Other Riders Connected With Deedie Case Stand for the Present. TORONTO, Ont., May 3.— Word of reinstatement of three jockeys, Colin McDonald, Frank Madeley and Robert Watson, involved in a scandal which resulted from a race won by Deedie at Thorncliffe Park in the fall of 1936, was the most important announcement made by A. E. Dyment, chairman of the Incorporated Canadian Racing Associations, at a special interview granted members of the Toronto press Wednesday morning. Suspensions of the five other riders involved, Frank Mann, H. Palaez, G. Atkins, F. Dougherty and J. Passero, stand for the present. Mr. Dyment intimated, however, that the cases of the latter five may be discussed further later on. All eight were denied licenses at the opening of the 1937 racing season, although Watson did accept a few mounts at the Woodbine meeting before he was set down. In making this important announcement, Mr. Dyment stated that the directors had felt some of the boys were, more or less, the victims of others and in justice to them and the men they work for their cases called for more consideration. It was also announced that suspensions of the following racers will end on the dates mentioned: Heydona, suspended after race of August 20, 1938, at Stamford Park; to be reinstated June 29, 1939. Voloris, suspended after race of August 22, 1938, at Stamford Park; to be reinstated June 29, 1939. Prince Reno, suspended after race of August 29, 1938, at Stamford Park; to be reinstated July 6, 1939. Ida King, suspended after race of August 81, 1938, at Stamford Park; to be reinstated July 6, 1939.
