OFF AT ONCE. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. PASS OUT raced to the front at once, drew clear in the first eighth, increased his lead steadily and was never threatened, winning with speed to spare. TOWN PRINCE, slightly reserved early, came willingly in the stretch run. SIDE ARM worked his way up gradually and, saving all possible ground, held on with good energy in the stretch drive. LIKA THAT, hard ridden while in closest pursuit of the pace, tired through the last three-sixteenths. SIMKOE was unable to keep up after breaking alertly. LISTARO outran his field from the start, opened up a commanding advantage and was never threatened, although ridden out smartly at the end. UNEASY, under slight reserve while following in pursuit of the pace, responded gamely to hard urging and finished with good energy, although no match for the winner. TRICKWICK, in nearest chase of the pace for the first half mile, was unable to threaten when called upon and was doing his utmost at the end to hold BLACK LOOK safe. The latter .was going willingly at the end, although never in a position to endanger the leaders. PANORASCOPE, slightly reserved early, was unable to enter into serious contention at any stage of the journey. OLD NASSAU was outrun throughout. Scratched— 74053 Slump, 115; 73883 Counsuello, 106. U-BOAT displayed speed from the start, drew clear in the first quarter mile, was rated along under slight restraint and, fighting it out in determined fashion when challenged, outlasted DOROTHY ROCK. The latter, unable to keep up during the first half mile, came stoutly between horses through the stretch and finished with good energy. SUPERSTITION, a trailer until the last eighth, closed with a rush on the outside and was going the fastest of all at the end. LAKE VIEW, in nearest pursuit of the pace for the first half mile, tired under pressure. UNASSISTED., away fast and under slight reserve while within striking distance of the pace, was unable to keep up during the stretch run when jockey attempted to keep him from bearing in. ACE CALL, under slight reserve while in nearest pursuit of the pace established by MISCREANT, went to the front when the pacemaker began tiring and, vigorously ridden through the stretch, held SILENT WITNESS safe. The latter was forced to take back nearing the half-mile post when attempting to move through on the inside, was under punishment all through the stretch and closed with good energy. SIRASIA, outpaced early, came stoutly through the last quarter mile. GOOD ODDS dwelt slightly after taking the opening strides and was far back until reaching the stretch, then closed gamely, passing tired horses. MISCREANT displayed good speed in the pacemaking, then quit badly when placed under pressure. Overweight — Minstrel Wit, pounds. FIFTH RACE 3= MILE Out of Chute. CLINGENDAAL was not hurried during the early running, worked his .way to the leaders gradually and, catching ZOIC tiring, had enough in reserve to hold SLOW MOTION safe. The latter worked way up steadily on the outside and finished in a determined fashion through the stretch run. ZOIC raced to the front soon after the start, opened up a good lead and tired under punishment during the last sixteenth. GAY BALKO saved ground at the stretch turn, but was unable to reach the leaders. ACCOLADE, well placed early, tired steadily during the last quarter mile. PANTHER CREEK was far back throughout. COURT DANCE, hard ridden to hold a forward position early, quit badly after going a half mile. Scratched— 74014 Sun Egret, 122. Overweight — Panther Creek, 2 pounds. SIXTH RACE 1 MILE. TATTERDEMALION, away fast, but lacking speed to keep pace early, dropped back steadily and trailed his field until the last five-sixteenths, closed with a rush through the stretch and, getting to the front, drew out steadily through the last sixteenth. WAR MINSTREL, restrained until leaving the back stretch, moved up fast on the outside, gained a slight lead when reaching the stretch and, despite holding on willingly, was no match for the winner when challenged. CLODION, away slowly and forced to ease back going to the first turn, moved up steadily during the last half mile and finished with good energy to outlast PAGLIACCI. The latter dropped back slightly after rounding the far turn and was unable to close any ground under punishment through the stretch. SUN EGRET was forced to ease back when INFIDOX came over nearing the turn into the back stretch, moved up gradually, but was unable to close any ground during the closing drive. WISE PRINCE was unable to reach the leaders. SUN INPLAY quit badly in the last quarter mile. INFIDOX quit. PASSING EVE, under steadying restraint while racing in close attendance of the pace, disposed of GUILD for the lead nearing the stretch to draw out fast through the last three-sixteenths. TRAICIONERO, under stout restraint for the first mile, moved up briefly nearing the far turn and, closing gamely, was along in the last strides to wear down GUILD, but was unable to endanger the winner. GUILD raced to the front soon after the start, was rated along under stout restraint for the first mile and, while making a bid to go along with the winner when challenged, was not good enough and only lost the place in the concluding stride. LAST ROMANCE, as usual slow to begin and outpaced early, moved up gradually in the last three-eighths and, wearing down COUNT RAE inside the last seventy yards, outlasted the latter at the end. COUNT RAE, reserved until the last five-sixteenths, disposed of MIXED WEATHER for the lead and, despite fighting it out gamely, was not quite good enough. MIXED WEATHER took command at once, was under slight restraint while meeting early opposition from PRIPO, disposed of her, but was unable to keep the pace in the final drive. SUN FIGHTER, a trailer until leaving the back stretch, was on the outside while bettering his position and, while making up some ground, was unable to endanger the leaders. BLUE KING was rated along within striking distance of the pace, but flattened out when called upon. MYRON was caught in close quarters after leaving the back stretch and was unable to threaten thereafter. Scratched— 74118 Hymarque, 100; 74118 Veilstar, 100; 74117 Bright Com. 105.
