THE WIND was outrun in the early stages while on the inside, responded when placed under pressure In the stretch run and finished fastest of all at the end. CHING-LING showed speed while saving ground and then held on well under pressure to the finish. CANTOVINO was in near pursuit of the pace all the way and had no mishaps in the running. BLUE FAIRY was away well, but could not keep up in the early stages. CHICLUNA was under pressure entering the stretch. BLACK BREAD was unable to menace the leaders at any stage. WAMBAW was outrun in the early stages and was never a serious factor. OUR SAILOR showed a flash of speed and then quit. SNOBBY SCAMP was outrun. ENTRACTE was shuffled back after the start and was taken under restraint, was placed under pressure in the stretch and finished fast to outlast SPILLWAY. The latter showed speed from the start, saved ground on the turns and was bearing out shghtly neanng the final eighth. ARMOR BEARER dropped back after the start and ran in spots there-alter. LKAVAT, a trailer to the stretch turn, finished with a rush at the end. HEELFLY was outrun in the early stages, came to the outside for the stretch run and finished with a rush on the outside. JACOLA was close up on the inside in the early running and then came again at the end. HE DID showed speed while saving ground and was forced to take up in the final sixteenth when in close quarters. FIGHTING FOX was blocked on the far turn and took up, then came again at the end. LADY MARYLAND was outrun early and could not menace the leaders at thc end. BROWN KING was a trailer to the stretch.
