FINAL DAY AT BEULAH PARK . i I • Darby Dan Farms Francesco Victor in the ,500 Added Governors Handicap — Bobs Boys Second. COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 20.— Due to the withdrawal of four of the original eleven , horses named overnight, the field for the , Governors reduced to j • Handicap was seven i starters, but all of the main contenders remained. I I. J. Collins withdrew Pehamis, relying on Bernard F. to carry his colors. j I Jockey A. Robertson, who came here espe-1 cially to ride Bobs Boys in the big race, de-j parts tonight for Chicago. This marked his j first visit to an Ohio track since 1927, the year in which he made his saddle debut. Rain threatened at intervals during much of the afternoon but despite this fact an excellent crowd journeyed to the course to witness the program which marked the termination of the meeting. The presence ofi j Governor Bricker and the first appearance J of the star performers here, vhich were engaged in the Governors Handicap, was responsible. Eight other events made up a! I very attractive card. j Bena Bane, Black Anna and Darby Dienst led for most of the trip in their respective j races, Darby Dienst drawing away decisively j through the stretch like a real good colt. High Explosive and Molasses Bill both came from behind in later stages of their races, the latter scoring with much to spare. Dusky Prince and the other members of the Creech stable will be shipped from here to North Randall, as will also the Darby . Dan Farm string, including Francesco. I. j. I j Collins will divide his stable, shipping part! to Detroit and others to North Randall, to which point Allan Simmons Saunderstown 1 j is also destined. Closing with a brilliant rush on the outside of his opposition through the stretch,, the Darby Dan Farm stables Francesco, owned by John Galbraith, Columbus sportsman, was returned winner of the ,500 Governors Handicap, at Bculah Park, this afternoon. Bobs Boys, from the Superior Stable, raced to second place, with Mrs. A. M. Creechs Dusky Prince third, and Bernard F. unplaced. The mile and a six-1 teenth was covered in 1:44%, a new track i record, and the race was worth ,925 net to the winning owner.
