NIM, racing in his best form and prominently placed from the start, was taken under mild restraint rounding the far turn, was steered to the inside for the drive, moved into command approaching the final eighth and, without need of pressure, withstood NIGHT BANDIT. The latter lacked early speed, raced on the outside throughout, was placed under strong pressure in the late stages, disposed of WALTER L., but could not reach the winner. WALTER L. showed good speed after beginning slowly, was under increased pressure when challenged in the final quarter, continued gamely, but was no match for the winner. BRILLIANT STONE, never a great distance back, in the early stages, lacked speed in the final drive. MISS LAMPLEY faltered in the last eighth. MERRY FREDA had no mishaps. GAMING, much the best, lacked early speed, was well handled when steered to the outside turning into the stretch, displayed strong energy under pressure and was up in the final stride. BE DISCREET forced the pace from the start, continued with good speed when in command and just failed to last. STROLLING MISS, well up from the start, made a bold bid approaching the last eighth, but tired in the last seventy yards. MURIELLYNN, outrun for a half mile, was unable to secure clear racing room when straightened and was unable to menace the leaders. OURAY, hustled from the start, relinquished the lead under strong urging. MT. WASHINGTON tired in the stretch. PHOTOGRAPHY raced on the outside throughout. VIERNES SANTO, racing fonvardly from the start under mild restraint, was steered to the outside in the stretch, secured clear racing room and, responding, with strong energy, moved into command inside the final sixteenth and was drawing clear at the end. DOUBLE DIP lacked early speed, saved ground and, steered between horses when moving to the leaders in the drive, was up in the closing stride. LINTER, on the outside throughout, responded to urging in the last quarter and closed resolutely. MISS CHARLOTTE, hustled from the start, held on gamely in the drive. TEPERWINE slipped through on the inside, took command, was steadied rounding the turns and, strongly handled when challenged, gave way in the final seventy yards. LADY ALBERT G., in close quarters rounding the far turn and on the outside for the stretch run, tired. FRISKY DAY faltered in the last eighth. GRECIAN TIME made a bold bid approaching the final eighth, but quit badly. PEGGYS SUN had nothing left for the stretch drive. Scratched— 74135 Princess Verte, 103. TOWN SILVER took command with a rush, was in hand rounding the turn, responded to increased pressure when challenged, but could not withstand the winner. MISS ETHEL, hustled from the start, tired in the final stages. PALMERA T. lacked early speed, but finished gamely. VONCEIL could not keep up in the early stages. VICTORY MARCH was outrun. TRANSVIEW, away fast and under hustling tactics, raced close to the inside rail, tiring in the stretch run. MY COLIN took a short lead turning into the stretch, but faltered in the drive. PRINCE ARGO displayed a high burst of speed in shaking off DOWN UNDER, was taken in hand approaching the stretch turn and, continuing strongly in the stretch just failed to withstand the winner. JOHN FRANCIS, reserved off the early pace, was strongly ridden through the final quarter and closed resolutely. KHARTAIR saved ground in the early stages, weaved his way between horses approaching the final eighth and finished gamely. JAY D. BANE tired under pressure FAST MOVE, on the inside, faltered in the final sixteenth. BROWN BEN failed to respond to urging. DOWN UNDER was used up forcing the pace. ARCTIC STAR, prominent from the start, failed to menace the leaders under pressure in the final quarter. BARANCA, on the inside, was best of the others, but could not reach the leaders under pressure. The others were never prominent. The latter, under restraint when outrun in the early stages, was steered to the outside for the drive and finished strongly. GLOVE, prominent from the start, saved ground throughout and held on gamely in the concluding stages. KINGSHIGHWAY was never a great distance back, but failed to respond to strong pressure in the drive. BRILLIANT PAL raced slightly wide rounding the first turn and, on the outside thereafter, was unable to menace the leaders in the closing stages. DODLOO, under good rating setting the pace, had nothing left when challenged. REELAWAY could not improve position under pressure. CLOSE CALL quit. KAI HARRI was through after five-eighths.
