FORTISSIMO was placed under pressure in the first quarter mile and, bearing in slightly, finished well, wore down the leaders and drew away at the end. HUNTING SONG was taken under restraint the first part, responded when placed under pressure and then finished well. ATUM RE raced forwardly from the start on the outside and had no mishaps in the running. BUFFOON showed a flash of early speed and then quit. MILLCHIC was close up while under pressure in the early stages and had no excuses. SUN IVY raced evenly throughout. YELLOW DUST had a flash of early speed. OKAPILIDA had no mishaps. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third easily. HE GOES jumped well and, under steady restraint to the final eighth, improved his position when urged, finished fast and wore down GREEK IDOL in the last strides. The latter was under restraint while jumping well the first turn of the field, moved into an easy lead when urged, saved ground thereafter, only to hang in the final drive. ATOPHAN jumped well, but was unable to maintain his position when urged. BROOM TOPPER showed an even effort throughout. A. DITHER showed a good effort. JOHN BROOM had no mishaps jn the running. SLIEVEREIGH was weakly handled throughout. TOMS BOY made a bad landing at the seventh fence and was never a factor thereafter. CALCULATE had no mishaps in the running. ROSETOWN broke fast in motion and displayed high speed all the way, shook off opposition when pressed in the front eighth and then finished with speed in reserve. SCURRY was outrun in the early stages, responded when pressed in the front quarter mile and closed fast. US was taken under restraint after breaking in the air and was finishing on her own courage at the end. PIQUET closed well and finished on even terms with PARADISE GIRL in a dead heat for fourth place. PARADISE GIRL showed a flash of early speed after recovering from a bumping by NOTDOWN at the start. The latter took several strides and then wheeled to the inside. She galloped far back after her field. Overweight — Rosetown, 2 pounds; Notdown, 2. FOURTH RACE , 3-4 MILE. Won easily; second and third driving. SASSY LADY, away well, was taken under restraint when outrun, moved up fast in the stretch run, disposed of SELMALAD and drew away at the cdn. RODIN dropped back after the break, improved his position when urged and finished with good courage, but could not menace the winner. CHIP IN broke well, but lacked speed, responded when placed under pressure in the stretch run and then finished fast. SELMALAD was sent into command after the start, showed speed, saved ground entering the stretch and then faltered. ROLL AND TOSS propped at the start and had no mishaps. HEATHER BROOM was taken under restraint in the early stages, was rated along to the stretch turn, bore out slightly rounding the turn, but then disposed of BELAY and drew away, although bearing out at the end. BELAY, on the outside of the leaders from the start, moved up courageously rounding the stretch turn, was carried wide, but could not menace the leader at the end. NEDAYR showed speed from the start on the inside, but tired badly at the finish. HANDCUFF was outrun all the way and made up some ground at the end. - SIXTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. The latter worked his way up on the inside in the early stages, came to the outside in the stretch and finished with a rush. PICCOLO was placed under urging rounding the far turn and saved ground entering the stretch, then finished well. EARLY SETTLER, in near pursuit of the pace from the start, faltered steadily in the final quarter mile. ROYAL EMINENCE was close up in the early stages and had no mishaps. STRABO, on the inside early, could not improve position when urged. SHANGAY LILY was outrun. BROWN BOMB was never a factor. GOLDEN VEIN dropped back after the break, then came with a rush at the finish. GOLD BUCKLE and CARRIE K. raced each other into defeat. INSCOLITA broke slowly. CARRIE K. faltered badly at the end. BAD DAY lacked speed after breaking from the outside. THE LAKE, fractious at the post, ran away a sixteenth before the start. SELF SERVICE had no mishaps.
