JINNEAL broke tardily, was sent on the outside after going three-quarters, moved to the front readily and continued strong under severe urging to stall of AUFOIN. The latter, rated off the early pace, responded when shaken up and finished stoutly. COUNTER PASS dropped back after the start, trailed for seven-eighths, then saved ground to finish gamely. BEST POLICY was used up racing with TULEYRIES STAR and flattened out. QUILL was away poorly and had no chance. PUDDLES was also away poorly and could not menace. TULEYRIES STAR tired badly. TULEYRIES LAD, saved back of the pacemaker for the first three-quarters, moved up strongly when placed to a drive, assumed command in the last eighth and came out slowly. TOP SHELL raced into an early lead, was rated while saving ground, but tired steadily when caught. JUSTA PILGRIM moved forward when placed to a drive, but raced wide into the stretch and hung under punishment nearing the end. BAV saved a lot of ground and finished with good courage.
