Apprentice Paul Keiper, leading rider at Beulah Park, stopped off Monday and expects to remain a few days before departing for Omaha. Fully recovered from his recent illness, Black Brummel, star of the C. H. Ferguson stable, is back in training and again will enter competition Saturday when the big son of St. James accepts his engagement in the St. Clair Stakes. Showing a stellar exhibition of horsemanship on Sweeping Dame, winner of the eighth race Saturday, George Oros, brother of Americas leading rider, graduated from maiden jockey ranks. The younger Oros, who had but six mounts before his winning effort, is 16 years of age, is a native of Aurora, 111., and does 102 pounds. He is under contract to his father, John Oros. Charles T. Fisher, owner of the Dixiana Stable, the largest on the grounds, was an arrival Monday from Atlantic City.
