FLYING CENTAUR, kept under pressure to keep within striking distance of the leaders, moved forward stoutly in the late stages, swung to the outside of ELEANOR O. nearing the stretch, finished stoutly and was up in the last sixteenth. ELEANOR O. opened up a long lead, saved ground, but tired when the real test came. STAND BY was prominent under strong urging and was the best of the others. TROSTAR was hard ridden, but was not good enough. PEDAGETTE broke from outside the stalls after acting unruly and never was a threat. ALICE O. was outrun. DIXIE S. was held safe. LYDE, permitted to gain her best stride before moving to the leaders, rallied strongly to enter contention on the final turn, wore down the leaders and came away under strong urging. FLAG ETTA was prominent from the start and continued gamely when placed to a hard drive. ADHELMAR broke in a tangle and bumped into JUDGES BID, was rushed rapidly to get to the pacemaker, then faltered after getting to the front nearing the stretch. KILLY could not get clear when in front and tired in the last quarter mile. JUDGES BID closed gamely between horses. LA CANTER raced evenly. SOME GROUCHER and GESTURE were outrun. TAVERN raced forwardly from the start and finished gamely. TUFT HUNTER, away poorly, came with good courage in the last half mile. GOLDEN MAYNE was ridden hard after breaking in a tangle, but was not good enough. WHICH BLOND was away poorly. PACEMAKER was knocked back at the start. HERLERO was outrun. PUKKA HEAVEN, unable to keep up with the leaders in the first five-eighths, closed gamely in the late stages. SCOUT ROSE, outrun during the early racing, came willingly in the final drive. SPRINGS HERE was stoutly handled all the way and raced well. BEAUFAST raced well placed, but was not good enough. BORO POKER quit. SCOLD and LADY DUNLIN were held safe. ACCIDENTAL raced below her true form and can do better. CHIRIQUI broke slowly and was unable to enter contention. HALO had no excuses, although losing ground. BOSOPI could not improve his position. COUNTER PASS has been raced much and appears to be staling off. GUATEMALA and the others were badly outrun. The latter was prominent from the start and closed with good courage on the inside of the winner. CHARMING MARY entered contention early, made strong bids and held on well. CHAMPFLEURY saved ground and bettered his position steadily. KALEIDA was not good enough. LEW DUNLIN was never a factor. PROPRIETARY raced very wide for the entire trip and raced poorly. PRINCE KHAYYAM showed nothing and can do much better.
