I ! DETROIT TURF NOTES * $ , — s Charles Ferguson received word that Thunder Flash foaled a chestnut colt by Jamestown at the Ferguson farm near Georgetown, Ky. Acting for his wife, A. J. Mueller purchased the veteran plater, Sarsita, Tuesday morning from Mrs. Ed McCuan. The horse, which has been inactive since 1937, will be trained by Mueller. J. M. Jones, who makes Detroit his home, is conditioning Miss Joker for H. N. Henderson and Romola for Dr. C. M. Henderson. Military Girl and Mattie J., which were quartered at the polo field, were moved to the Fair Grounds today by trainer O. A. Bianchi. After filling several engagements at Woodbine Monday, including the mount on Gold J Fawn in the Kings Plate, Herbert Lindberg returned Tuesday from Toronto and reported to trainer Fred Morris, who has a division of the Milky Way Farm horses here. Eugene Bury, who acts as racing secretary at Oaklawn Park, arrived Tuesday from Churchill Downs. Bury will be here for an • indefinite period. An addition to the jockey colony is Clare Critchfield, who came from Beulah Park. Critchfield, who rode with a good measure of success at the Ohio track, turned his book over to "Whitey" Cunningham.
