ICY WIND followed in close attendance of the pace the first half mile, raced to the lead with a rush when straightened in the stretch and drew out. SHIMMERING was rushed to the pacemaking MAPLE TINTS in the first quarter mile, took a brief lead entering the stretch and, closing gamely, outfinished MAPLE TINTS. The latter raced forwardly placed throughout in a good effort. CEASELESS, slow to settle in best stride, closed with a rush on the inside through the stretch run. JUB JUB raced evenly. CHAT EAGLE* made up ground. SABLIN, fractious at the start, was sent to the outside and never threatened. GRAND TOKEN was away slowly. SAGE GIRL sprinted to the lead at once, was steadied along, but was unable to hold the winner through the final eighth. THORNLEA worked Way forward steadily in a good effort. LOLOMA, well placed throughout, had no excuses. LORRAINE S. raced evenly. SPEED was "away slowly. WESTYS HERO and HANNAH ANNE quit. COLORED ARTIST had brief speed. YAMMER sprinted into the lead at once, fenced well while setting the pace, withstood repeated bids from CARELESS KNIGHT and outfinishod him in the drive. CARELESS KNIGHT raced fonvardly from .the start, made a bold bid to reach the lead going to the seventh fence and struck a splinter from that obstacle which had been unlodged when AMHURST hit it. He made a bold bid to reach the pacemaker again inside the last half mile, but, tiring, pulled up lame from his injury. WINON raced evenly. BOBSWORTH could never threaten. AMHURST struck the first fence heavily, recovered, but could never threaten. TABHIM bolted out when rider lost stirrup after going a mile and threw rider heavily over the outside rail. BIG FISH was rushed into the jlead from the start and drew away into a good lead, then faltered through the final quarter mile. BARFORD I closed with a rush through the final quarter mile. VICEREINE tired badly after forcing tho early running. j BONNIE SIGHT was away poorly. SPRING MOON outbroke her rider who lost his stirrup irons and had no chance. SEMESTER, slow to settle in his best stride, swung to the outside entering the stretch, closed with a rush and was up in the final stride. ARDAWN raced forwardly placed from the start, wore down EQUERRY through the stretch run and just failed to last. EQUERRY sprinted to the lead from the start drew clear and then tired nearing the end, giving way in the final strides. ZOWIE quit badly the last eighth. BERNARDINE W. was away slowly. BINDY tired. WREN raced LITTLE CLEORA -into defeat the first half mile and was under pressure all through the final quarter mile. SPEAK, away slowly, closed with, a rush through the final quarter mile. LITTLE CLEORA forced the early running and faltered through the stretch run. TOKAY tired. GREEN IRIS was never prominent after the first eighth. BOSCO-BEL raced evenly. SINGBAMPA quit. The latter worked his way forward steadily on the outside, moved up threateningly entering the final eighth and hung in the drive. PEWTER CREST worked way between the field in the first three-quarters and closed gamely to the end. LAFITOFF faltered after setting the pace to the stretch. BATON DAMOUR could never threaten.
