1 WEIGHTS FOR CRETE STAKES Shelley Allots Imposts for Dearborn and Kankakee Handicaps. Fifty Juveniles Named for Dearborn and Fifteen Likely to Start— Downy Pillow at Top. CRETE, 111., May 23.— Two ,500 added stakes, the Dearborn and Kankakee Handicaps, will be presented Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Fields, where the season opens Thursday, and racing secretary William H. Shelley announced weight for them today. The Dearborn is a dash of five furlongs for two-year-old fillies, while the Kankakee is for fillies and mares, three-year-olds and upward, and will be contested at one mile. These features are the second and third of eleven to be run during, the twenty-seven day season of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club, the first being the six furlongs Crete Handicap, which is down for decision on Thursday. FIFTY NAMED. Fifty juvenile fillies were named for the Dearborn and it is not unlikely that as many as fifteen or more actually will face the barrier. Top weight in this feature went to William F. Morgans fleet Downy Pillow, which will be asked to shoulder 122 pounds. Next come I Do Believe and Sassy Mate with 118 each, Drury Lane with 116 and Storcky, Valdina Mint and Betty Sweep with 115. The Kankakee drew thirty nominations, among them such good performers as Cross Keys, Smart Crack, Unerring, Dinner Date, Smart Trick, Rude Awakening, Novelette, Blazearound, Rule All, Floragina, Dolly Val and Manie OHara. Top weight in this event went to Cross Keys whose assignment is 116 pounds. Other high weights are Novelette, Unerring, Floragina and Dolly Val. This popular feature also is expected to attract a good field. The weights for the two stakes follow: DEARBORN HANDICAP. Horse. Wt. Horse. Wt.
