! NORTH RANDALL TURF NOTES f v g Word was received from Frank Barton that a carload of horses are en route to North Randall from San Mateo, Calif. It was necessary to advise many of the horsemen at Beulah Park to delay shipment -pending the completion of more barns. However, both Cranwood and Ascot Park are being used to handle the current overflow. Despite intermittent showers throughout Sunday, there was a large crowd of visitors inspecting the North Randall course. Harry Green, supervisor of the mutuel department, put in his appearance and immediately went about his task of readying his department. Wm. C. Daly, who dispatched the fields at Beulah Park and will serve in a similar capacity here, checked in, as did his crew of assistants. Charles Y. McVey, president of the Cleveland Jockey Club, is one of the most active members of the North Randall executives. The horses of J. B. Respess, sage of Er-langer, will be transferred from Churchill Downs on Wednesday. Trainers will be privileged to make use of the half mile training track in the infield as well as the main track for work-outs. Two chutes have been installed for the starting of six-furlongs races and for contests at a mile and a quarter. G. W. Barnes, trainer of the large stable owned by A. C. Snyder, filed a request Monday for stabling accommodations for fourteen horses now at Churchill Downs. Parking space is being provided at both ends of the main entrance to the historic course. The hills have been removed and the surface smoothed over.
