GLENBROOM, quickest to begin, was under slight restraint off the pacemakers, went into command moving around on the outside to take the lead swinging from the back stretch, increased his lead steadily and was never fully extended. COUNT RAE, slow to begin and outpaced for the first three-eighths, closed a big gap and was going willingly at the end. POWERS GOURAUD, far back early, came with a belated rush through the stretch. PEACEFUL, much used up in disputing the pace, faltered in the last three-sixteenlhs. BROWN MARVEL had eood speed for the first half mile, but tired steadily when placed under pressure. BOB C. was never a factor. MARCABALA, hustled into contention, tired in the last five-sixteenths. ARMSTRONG, away well and well placed for the opening three-eighths, dropped back thereafter. L., lacking her accustomed early speed, moved nto contention nearing the far turn, was sent to the outside of the pacemaker when reaching the stretch and. readily wearing down CURRANTS, drew clear in the last seventy yards. CURRANTS, quickest to begin, shook off NIGHT CHASE in the run through the back stretch, was rated along under slight restraint, was placed under punishment when the winner challenged and, while holding on willingly, was not good enough. NIGHT CHASE was forwardly placed the entire trip, although tiring slightly in the last three-sixteenths. IDOLATRY closed a lot of ground after trailing early. LAURANA LYON was slow to settle into her best stride and, outpaced for the opening three-eighths, came extremely wide into the stretch and. finishing with a rush, was along inside the last twenty yards. SATIN ROLLS was prominently placed all the way and held on with good energy to the close. JACQUELIN HIGH had speed from the start, opened up a good lead, saved ground into the stretch, but tired during the closing eighth. MALAYAN moved up menacingly approaching the stretch, but was unabe to close any ground under pressure through the stretch. LONG X. was unable to reach the leaders. PHOEBE ANNA had early speed. BAIZE moved up with a rush on the outside leaving the back stretch, disposed of SECOND HEAVEN for the command, opened up a good lead and. hard ridden at the end, held STAR OF PADULA safe. The latter, slightly reserved early, came stoutly through the stretch run and was gaining steadily on the winner at the close. SECOND HEAVEN threaded her way through the field to take command after going the first eighth, raced into an easy lead, although unable to keep pace during the last five sixteenths. BlSSA-KERRV closed some ground through the stretch run. JOLLY FLAG tired after going three-eighths. ARBITRAGE was moving up on the inside nearing the far turn when caught in close quarters and was taken up sharply. He was never prominent thereafter. Overweight — Second Heaven, 3 pounds. ANNIKIN, avoiding the early pace, moved up gradually on the outside nearing the far turn, responded gamely to pressure and, fighting it out with DIANAPAT for the lead, disposed of her and had enough in reserve to hold safe the bid of WAKITA. The latter, outpaced early, closed with a belated rush through the stretch. DIANAPAT, reserved early, went to the front when called upon, but was unable to maintain her advantage under hard riding. MASTER HOWARD raced into contention with a rush nearing the stretch, but was caught in close quarters and was unable to make up any ground in the final drive. LADY HAV faltered in the last quarter mile. AMERCUP broke to the inside at the start, raced on the inside throughout and was held safe. Scratched— 73749 Ellacaw. 100. UNASSISTED had speed from the outset and fought it out with good energy after saving ground into the stretch. MANY STINGS dropped far out of contention early, but came with good speed in the stretch and was traveling the fastest of all at the end. SOMALI moved up gradually on the outside through the back stretch, wore down SUNNYSHORE for the lead when reaching the stretch and. bearing cut through the last eighth, finished out beyond the middle of the track and just lasted to hold PRINCE DEREK. The latter worked his way up gradually, drove through on the inside of the leader in the last eiahth and just missed. SUNNYSHORE was prominent all the way, although unable to keep pace in the closing three sixteenths when challenged. ODDES. FRANK, a trailer early, closed with a rush and would have been third in another stride. KENYON C, well placed early, was unable to keep up during the last three eighths. WOODLANDER tired. FRANK H., well placed and hard ridden, was unable to better his position. WULFSTAN tired after forcing the early pace. BREEZING ALONG was outrun.
