J i ] ; i I it I MANIE OHARA MOVES UPWARD I Now Rates With Topnotch Handicap I Stars — Assigned 118 Pounds for Lincoln Handicap on Saturday. l CRETE, 111., June 20.— Manie OHara, the gray filly which races under the silks of f Hyman Friedberg and Edwin Axton, began i the Chicago season as one of the lighter r weights of the local handicap division, but her succession of victories has earned her increasing respect and, on Saturday, if she takes part in the final stake at Lincoln l Fields, the Lincoln Handicap, she will have to do so under top weight of 118 pounds. Manie OHara captured the Kankakee Handicap, under 109 pounds, came back to ■ account for the Steger, at 111, and then, after J set-back in the La Salle, returned to get a dead heat for first money with Her Reigh c in the Marquette, under 114 pounds. At 118 pounds, the Friedberg and Axton J filly will concede from two to twenty-two . j pounds to her rivals. In all, forty-six, in- J eluding the ill-fated Dehor, which suffered j fatal injuries in the Marquette last Saturday, were named for the Lincoln Handicap. Burning Star has been assigned 116 pounds, j J Her Reigh and Mucho Gusto, 115 each, and j Finance, 114. Agotaras and Miss Bonnie are e the light weights of the field, under 96 g pounds each. j If Mucho Gusto accepts the issue Satur- J day, he will be making his first start since e i J early in the year, when it was decided to give him a much deserved rest. He has been J I training in splendid fashion and his appear- r_ j | ance in Saturdays field would lend consider-i r_ able color to the stake, the last of eleven on Lincoln Fields program.
