HAPPY MARLENE, slow to settle into stride, was carried wide in the stretch by MASKED VISITOR, but closed gamely under strong handling. MISS GREEN fell at the post, thus picking up considerable mud. was off slowly, but closed with a rush through the stretch. MASKED VISITOR set the pace, but ran out on the stretch turn and was eliminated. The others were outrun.
