RACING COMMISSION! j SUSPENDS TONY PRLETERI , NEW YORK, N. Y., June 20.-At a meeting of the New York State Racing Com- mission yesterday, at which the drugging case of the horse Sun Plume was reviewed by Herbert Bayard Swope, chairman, and commissioners John Hay Whitney and John Sloan, the following ruling was issued: "Anthony Pelleteri, trainer for the Mills- dale Stable, is ordered suspended indefin- itely by the commission as of June 20 in connection with the stimulation of the horse Sun Plume, three-year-old chestnut colt, by Sun Briar— Angry Plume, at Belmont Park, June 5, 1939. Pat McCarthy, Sun Plumes groom, is suspended indefinitely as of June 20. Pat Dwyer, foreman for Pelleteri, is reprimanded for carelessness. Investigation still continues." In accordance with the commissions pol- icy, Pelleteri and McCarthy will be denied all privileges of New York courses during the] terms of their suspension. All horses in the care of Pelleteri or owned by him are barred from racing until placed in the hands Of another trainer or otherwise disposed of with the approval of the commission. Under the new regulation established by the commission this year, the winners share of the purse is forfeited by the Millsdale Sta- | ble. First money will be awarded Mrs. G. I Winfreys Watch Over, second money toB.Fd Whitakers Dicty Step, third money to S. J. Paces Highscope and fourth money to C. H. Thieriofs Ebony Fly. j Sun Plume won the first race on June 5 A urinal analysis by the state racing com- i mission laboratory disclosed the presence of morphine. By direction of the chairman, I Harry J. Anslinger, chief of the federal bu- I i reau of narcotics, was notified of the findings in the case. An immediate investigation was started in- -to all phases of the case by Marshall Cassidy, commission steward, in conjunction witii federal authorities sent here from Washington as customary. ?
