OCEAN TIDE was in close quarters early and tired. GLAD FRANCIS was on the inside and outrun. RIDICULOUS and UNCLE LEWIS never were factors. R. A. Connell claimed Susiebell for ,500. IMPERIAL QUEEN, well handled and steadied along for a mile, moved forward when ready, encaeed SILENT SHOT after reaching the final sixteenth and got up in the last stride. The latter, reserved early, improved his position when ready, was under strong urging when wearing down TLRF STING, but failed to last. KAI SOU. outrun early, worked her way forward steadily, bore out in the stretch and finished well. TURF STING, under steadying restraint for a half mile, took command when ready, drew away into a long lead, saved ground thereafter and tired steadily after relinquishing the lead. BAY EAGLE raced wide and tired. IMPERIAL HIGH, used up in reaching contention on the inside, quit under pressure. CABLEGRAM quit. Apprentice allowance waived — Imperial Queen. ARNOLDS ACTOR, rushed to the front, set a good pace, gave way to the winner regained the lead by saving ground entering the stretch and tired near the end. PRUM, a strong factor from the start, tired. SWIFT LAD made up ground. LIRMA was unable to keep up. SISTER JEAN, away slowly and under listless handling early, made up ground in the drive.
