HAZEL NUT, well handled and steadied along early, improved her position when ready, took command after leaving the back stretch, established a good advantage rapidly, responded to strong urging when challenged and won with something to spare. FRANK C, reserved early, moved forward when ready, offered a bold bid on the inside of the winner nearin the final eighth and tired. PENNLIST, outrun early, worked his way forward through the field, was blocked when attempting to get between the leaders in the drive and tired thereafter. FIELD DAY came from well back. SKY GRENADE, rushed to the front, set a good pace for five-eighths and gave way steadily thereafter. COLONEL MARTIS tired after improving his position. YIRBET rushed to the leaders, responded to strong urging when closing fast on the outside, bore out badiy during the final sixteenth and drew away under pressure. HY SONNY took command soon after the start, established a good lead under steadying restraint, was put to strong pressure when tiring, was unable to hold the winner, but oulfinished ROYAL CHARM. The latter, under hustling tactics from the start, tired near the end. DON PANCHO came from well back. LEO D. raced wide and tired LACONIC had no mishaps. DOC OSTER and IMPERIAL ANHUT quit. The latter, rushed to the front, was unable to withstand the winner, but held on eamelv. BLIND SAGE, a strong factor from the start, finished stronelv. ELLICES ACE closed fast on the outside.
