Bright Melody changed hands when H. A. Allen, representing Mrs. H. A. Allen, sold the eight-year-old mare to L. B. Raibourn, who will also direct her training. Another sale was consummated when Raibourn disposed of Scat Junior to E. O. Smith, the latter doing his own training. Terms were private in both instances. Apprentice John Babali, under call to F. G. Orr, resumed riding after a brief absence from the saddle occasioned when the youngster fell from Pavisand. Joseph Cohen, nationally known sportsman from San Francisco, departed for Winnipeg, Canada, where he will be the guest of judge George W. Schilling. After brief stay in the Dominion, Cohen will visit Longacres and Hollywood before re- ■ turning to his home in Frisco. Apprentice R. G. "Bobbie" Underwood, under contract to W. Bateman, had his first mount of the meeting when he drew the assignment on Nick D. in the third race Tuesday.
