SHERRY B., away slowly and steadied when outrun, began to improve her position on the stretch turn, came through on the inside in the final quarter and, continuing strongly to the end, drew out fast Sin the last sixteenth. EGYPTIAN BELLE, forced to race very wide throughout and never a great distance back, was in hand for a half mile, responded when called upon and held on well to the finish. CATHERINE F. raced prominently from the start, but tired in the last eishth. ROLLINGHEELS was never a serious factor. FRISKY DAY showed speed while racing on the inside, came out in the stretch and tired badly in the last three-sixteenths. WHINCHAT besan well, raced wide and quit badly in the stretch. I W. Won ridden out; second .and third driving. • BLAUKUSS, a strong factor from the start, bore over slichtly when passing SADIE F. soon after reaching the turn, came out in the stretch and. wearing down NIGRETTE, drew clear quickly in the last f eighth "and held the race safe thereafter. NIGRETTE, fractious at the post, but away fast, made the j ealy pace under light restraint, held on well to the last sixteenth, then tired, but outstayed SADIE F. j The latter, away well, but taken back when in close quarters on the inside leaving the back stretch, swung very wide in the stretch and closed well under mild pressure. CHIEF MENTEUR raced wide and could not reach the leaders while giving an even performance. MISS PITTYPAT lacked speed throughout and •was never a contender. SALLY T., on the inside after the first quarter and kept under a snug steadying hold for a half mile, moved up rapidly on the stretch turn, gradually overtook the leaders when straightened in the stretch and came awav in the last sixteenth. VIRAGIN raced prominently from the start, was restrained for five-eishths and held on well under vigorous riding thereafter. GRECIAN TIME, fractious at the post, besan well, but could not hold the advantage, bettered his position steadily after three-eighths and wore down RED MOSS in the closing strides. RED MOSS held sway easily to the stretch and continued well under pressure to the last eighth, where lie tired. VIERNES SANTO, badiy outrun early, closed well, but was not dangerous. NANA KATE had no mishaps. SHASTA PLUCKY, fractious at the post and placed outside the stalls for the start, began well, but quit badlv after three-eighths. Scratched— 76021 Florence M., 108. FOLLY FEU raced wide throughout, received a hustling ride and closed some ground in the stretch. HOLIDAY TEA, prominent from the start, tired when placed to a mild drive the last five sixteenths. CHUBBINS made the pace under hustling tactics, was taken out after three-eighths, offered little resistance to the winners challenge and tired sharply in the late stages. BROADKILL, away slowly, remained far back for three eighths, moved up entering the stretch and hung on fairly well the final eighth. MOTION PICTURE had no mishaps. SAFE AND SOUND, raced wide after getting clear passage to the outside leaving the chute and rated along under steady restraint to the stretch, responded to punishment when straight in the final quarter, bore over slightly while wearing down BUCKING in the last sixteenth, drew out from the latter in the closing strides and pulled up slightly lame. BUCKING, slow to begin, started to move up approaching the turn, saved ground entering the stretch and hung on stubbornly after taking the lead with a rush, but was not good enough. ROUGH DIAMOND, kept in hand for five-eighths, closed with determination under strong handling. HOPE DIAMOND, badly outrun for five eighths, came resolutely thereafter. BUTTERMILK had speed and was nicely rated, but tired under a drive. SPIN ON was on the inside from the stait and also faltered in the final quarter. PRAIRIE DOG showed only a flash of early speed. NESSUS lost much ground on the first turn, was racing easily as he slipped between horses when approaching the linal half mile, was taken to the outside on the stretch turn and, taking command, shook off WHICHAWAY in the last eighth. WHICHAWAY entered contention with a rush, hung on stubbornly to the last eighth, then tired, but held COUNT PAN safe. The latter took command quickly, was raced wide throughout and readily cave way to the leaders on the stretch turn, but came again mildly, only to falter in the late stages. LEAP was on the inside much of the race. SANTAN quit badly. VASSAR stumbled at the stait, was rushed along in the early stages and again stumbled when beginning to tire badly nearine the far turn. JAY BIRD, away slowly, raced wide early and, badly outrun to the final quarter, was directed between horses when coming with fine belated speed thereafter, gut to the front in the last fifty yards and drew out thereafter. JOT-EM-DOWN, well up early and racing stronglv when taken back as he was blocked, rallied strongly in the last quarter and overtook WHIPSTITCH in the final strides. WHIPSTITCH bettered her position gradually, took command under strong urging when straight in the stretch and held on fairly well, but could not withstand the leaders. SUZANUS, under light restraint early, took command under light pressure, but tired alter seven eighths. BLACK GIFT raced wide, moved up easilv after three-eighths, but gave way graduallv in the drive. SILVER KIEV had a rough trip. MASTER TlSlE quit badly.
