HEDON, racing in his best form and strongly restrained in the early stages, came around BETNABAR turning into the stretch and. steered to the inside for the final drive, displayed strong couraee in withstanding BUSSE TRUMPET through the final eighth. The latter, slow to settle in stride and steered to the outside for the final drive, closed gamely, but hung in the closing strides. FRITZ HALLAM saved eround the entire trip, finishing gamely. HAMBURGER JIM raced on the outside for the entire trip. BETNABAR, hustled from the start, faltered in the final quarter. BLACK ANNA had a burst of early speed. The others were never prominent. SNUG! well handled and steadied along in the early stages, came out slightly turning into the stretch and, slightly urged approaching the final eighth, disposed of SAY WHEN easily in the final sixteenth. The latter set the pace under strong restraint, was strongly ridden turning into the stretch, was easily the best of the others, but could not withstand the winner. PARALDA could not reach the leaders in the final drive under strong pressure. BROWN RAY failed to make up ground in the final stages. CAPTAIN JEFFERS had no mishaps. PALM ISLAND had nothing left. TONEY DOO saved ground for the entire trip and, hustled alone: from the start, held on eamelv in the drive. VOMADALE was best of the others and had no mishaps. The latter saved ground in the early stages, made a bid when straightened out for the final drive, but was not good enough. ROMAN WHISTLER, prominent from the start, tired in the final drive.
