NEW JERSEY MUTUEL VOTE As this edition went to press, the vote in New Jersey yesterday Tuesday on the pari-mutuel amendment was too incomplete to indicate the result. The polls opened at 1 p. m. and closed at 9 p. m. The referendum was state-wide, twenty-one counties voting on the question of whether racing should be revived in New Jersey, with pari-mutuel betting, after a lapse of more than forty years.
