Harassed by unfavorable weather, the Lincoln Fields meeting will not be the success optimistically hoped for, but if tomorrow is a pleasant day, 15,000 or more racing fans may journey to the popular Southside course to witness the final program. Racing here this spring has been of the highest order, and though most of the ten stakes run here thus far have been decided on tracks other than fast, they =irave have proved proved thrilling; thrilling affairs. affairs. SMALL BUT STAR FIELD. A small field will contest tomorrows running of the Lincoln Handicap, one mile and a sixteenth, but it also should prove a thriller for among others it brings into competition Manie OHara, Mucho Gusto and Her Reigh, all of them familiar to Chicago racegoers. Mucho Gusto, which performs under the silks of, Mrs. Kirby Ramsey and R. F. Coppage, will be returning to competition after a long absence, and his presence in the starting field will lend it considerable color. Annually, Mucho Gusto is one of the most extensively campaigned horses in the handicap division, and last year his earnings totaled almost 5,000. Mucho Gusto, which won the Lincoln Handicap in 1936, and finished second in it to Chance Ray last year, was taken out of training early this year, but since being returned to action has worked impressively. That he is ready for tomorrows assignment was indicated several days ago, when he worked a mile between races in 1:41%. AFTER FOURTH STRAIGHT. Mucho Gusto will face tomorrows assignment under 115 pounds, three less than the top-weighted Manie OHara will be asked to carry. Manie OHara, which races for Hy-man Friedberg and Edwin Axton, has distinguished herself, at the start of the Lincoln Fields meeting, and tomorrow will be trying for her fourth stakes triumph of the local season.
