1 DELAWARE PARK NOTES | ® « The horses of Dan J. Sullivan which have been racing here since the opening of the meeting will be transferred to New England after the close of the local meeting. Edward J. Brennan, racing secretary here for steeplechase races, who will serve as racing secretary for the ten-day meeting at Hagerstown, Md., announced that condition books are in the hands of the printers and will be released shortly. Brennan reports that stall applications have been received from the leading stables at Charles Town, Wheeling Downs and North Randall in addition to a quota from Delaware Park. The mutuel handle of the Delaware Steeplechase and Race Association for the first two-thirds of the meeting of twenty days has shown a seven per cent decrease in speculation over the same period of racing last year, according to figures compiled here. The average for twenty days this year is 66,739 against 87,436 for the same amount of days last season. The small percentage of winning favorites have militated against a better average. The steeplechasers of the Thomas Hitchcock stable will be returned to New York for racing in the metropolitan area, according to present plans. Jockey Hilton Dabson has been engaged to handle Thellusson in the Kent Handicap here Saturday. Jockey Manny Berg, who drew an eighteen-day suspension early in the meeting, ended the suspension after the final race Friday and was to be seen in silks Saturday. Jockey Eddie Arcaro and Wayne D. Wright left late Friday from Aqueduct to ride Third Degree and Hash for the Green-tree Stable in the Kent Handicap. Both will return to New York after filling their engagements. Trainer J. M. Milburn, of the Starmount Stable, reported that the two year-old Damaged Goods was cut down in his last race and would be on the sidelines for a considerable period. J. Yancey Christmas made a hurried trip here from Charles Town, W. Va., then departed for Suffolk Downs. Jockey Leon Haas sent word that he would reach here Saturday to accept mounts. a
