KINGS PARK OPENS TODAY MONTREAL, Que., June 23.— Tomorrow the 1939 Quebec racing season gets under way. As in the case of last year, Kings Park, eastern Canadas only three-quarters mile racing plant has been called upon to start the ball rolling with a fourteen-day meeting, but there will be a much different send-off than a year ago. Much work has been done at Kings Park since last summer, chief among the improve-ments being the installation of a camera eye, which is owned and operated by the j I Associated Screen News Service. This has ! been set up atop the main grandstand, necessitating I j the removal of the stewards pagoda I to the infield. This same camera will also be used at Mount Royal, Connaught i I Park and Blue Bonnets, which meetings are to follow.
