JABIRU was hurried when unable to gain a forward position, worked her way to the leaders rounding the turn, moved into the lead inside the final eighth and came out under pressure. JIMS STAR, sluggish in the early racing, was taken very wide and came full of run in the closing drive. MISS TRIM was prominent from the beginning and held on willingly after entering contention. CROSS VINE began slowly, lacked racing room early, then closed fast on the inside in the late stages. J. EDGAR H. could not get clear when in front and tired in the stretch run. FLYING DUKE, outrun early, was taken wide to secure racing room, Finished determinedly when entering contention midway of the stretch and was up in the last twenty yards. MARYS LASSIE was prominent early, overhauled POMPE GRANDE in the final eighth, but could ont stall off the winner. DANS FOLLY was in the first flight while being handled strongly and held on with good energy in the final test. POMPE GRANDE broke fast and clear, displayed good speed for a half mile, then tired. ESPINO GOLD drove through on the inside entering the stretch and continued gamely. MINY MO failed to menace. GOLDEN LASS tired when the real test came. FLYING ALONE was outrun. REDLANDER was allowed to race nearest to the pacemaker while going along on his own courage, moved forward readily after going a turn of the field, caught QUAKERSTREET at the fourteenth jump, went into an easy lead while fencing nicely and held sway to the close. QUAKERSTREET opened up a commanding lead in the first mile and saved ground, but could not stay when challenged. JACAMAR was hard ridden all the way and his rider could not do him justice when he lost both stirrup irons. ROLLING STEEL jumped poorlv and was far back for the entire trip. BROOM TOPPER fell at the thirteenth jump. A. DITHER fell at the ninth jump. LATERAL PASS fell at the third obstacle. GRAEME CRACKER was well up all the way and had no excuses. MISS SELECTION was unable to threaten. BYRDS FLIGHT was not good enousrh. BERRY PATCH was outrun.
