C, June 23.— The United States government is firmly deter mined to resist all attempts by Japanese to close the open door in China, a high official declared today. Washingtons strategy calls for close collaboration with Great Britain and France in diplomatic pressure to checkmate Nippon. Warships of the American Asiatic fleet will take necessary steps to pio- tect American nationals and property in Chinese ports where they are threatened by Japans invasion, it was asserted.
