BOSTON, Mass., June 23.— Mrs. Emil Denemarks Court Dance, ridden by Eddie Robart, finished a length clear of W. C. Stroubes Kenty Miss in the Press Photographers Purse, which headlined a dismal afternoon of sport at Suffolk Downs. Rain j fell intermittently throughout the day and i the track was a sea of slop. Favorites were none too fortuntae, with one of the worst i blows to the form players coming in the l feature, as the odds-on choice, Burgoo Miss, I ran out of the money. W. F. Mannaghs Short Cake took the j show award in the event, finishing just a head off the runner-up. Burgoo Miss, never j better than third, finished fourth, beating j only one horse. This was Toddle On, a dis- J tant trailer all the way. Short Cake raced away from the .gate in I front, with Court Dance and Kenty Miss soon passing her. Court Dance showed a I length on top as they went by the half-mile j pole with Kenty Miss second and Burgoo j Miss back in third place. This order was maintained to the stretch, where Burgoo I Miss dropped out of it and Short Cake came again to take third. Court Dance held a lengths advantage under light urging to the stretch. Short Cake was closing fast on Kenty Miss in the final sixteenth, but could not make it in time. The feature was run in 1:13%. The wet weather naturally cut the crowd down to a minimum and also resulted in numerous scratches.
