ARLINGTON PARK READY Preparations for Mondays Inaugural Day Program Completed. Most Powerful Racing Stables in the Country Will Be Represented — - Classic and Futurity Features. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 23.— .When entries for the Inaugural program are drawn tomorrow morning, preparations for the opening Monday of Arlington Parks i fashionable summer meeting of thirty days : will be completed. Horses from the most , powerful racing establishments in the country, and some of Americas finest thoroughbreds are here, ready to vie for honors in eight stakes, worth 5,000 in added money, and in overnight events in which almost 40,000 will be distributed. Arlington Park has undergone impr6ve-ments since last year, which have cost the track upwards of 00,000, and those who visit the course this summer will find it more s beautiful than ever. Stands and barns, alike, [ have been re-decorated, additional seats have . been added to the enclosure section and a new cocktail lounge has been set out on the upper club terrace. DRAW BEST HORSES. From a racing standpoint, little will be ; lacking during Arlington Parks season. Two , of its principal stakes, the Classic for three-year-olds and the Futurity for two-year-olds, have attracted most of the best horses in i these divisions, and both of them are expected to have brilliant renewals. The Classic, which carries an added purse J of 0,000, may have a gross value of as much as 5,000, as may the Futurity, which is endowed with 0,000 in added money. Classic day has been fixed for July 22, while J the Futurity is to be offered on the final day of the meeting, July 29. As a companion piece for the juvenile special, the Arlington Handicap, for three-year-olds and older . horses, will be staged for a ,000 added prize. Handicap, for older horses, and the Lassie Stakes for two-year-old fillies. The Lassie, staged as a futurity, may have a gross value as great as 5,000. MATRON HANDICAP. Another ,000 race is the Arlington Matron Handicap, for older fillies and mares, while the remaining features are the ,500 added Inaugural Handicap and the ,500 added Hyde Park Stakes for two-year-olds. Of immediate interest is the Inaugural, a sprint of seven furlongs which will top Mondays program. This feature, run first in 1930 and captured by such horses as Silver-dale, Gold Step, Indian Runner, Whereaway Fraidy Cat and Mower, drew fifty-four nominations and with many of these eligible either on the scene or due over the week-end, a large field is expected to take part in it. A few of the speedsters which have been named for this stake are Cross Bow II., lsa-roma, Finance, Manie OHara, Old Rosebush, Light Spur, Kings Blue, Sly Gal, Dora May, Mad Money, Prairie Dog, Dolly Val, Talked About, Flying Lill, Olney, Don Creole, The Fighter, Tiger, Smart Trick Smart Crack, j Drudgery, Beau James, Joe Schenck, Chance Ray and Grey Gold. Racing secretary R. S. Shelley is arranging a splendid card of supporting races for the first program which will have eight races. A .
