DOGGEREL was sent forward with a rush on the outside leaving the back stretch, shook off POPPINALONG when straightened away in the stretch and drew clear at the end. GOLD CLIP forced the pace from the start, came to the outside of the leading POPPINALONG entering the stretch, closed willingly to the bend, but was no match for the winner. POPPINALONG sprinted to a clear lead in the etarly stages, set the pace to the stretch, then faltered under punishment. LEO D. saved ground on the inside through the stretch run. TOMBO TUCK was started slightly back of the field, was rushed up on the outside and tired. REE faltered through the stretch run. BROTHERTON was away slowly. FORE ISUS, unruly at the start, broke in a tangle, was sent forward on the outside with a rush when straightened away in the back stretch, wore down TOBY T. after leaving the back stretch, drew clear in the stretch and was under stout pressure at the end. TRICKYS SON was shuffled back sharply at the first turn, steadily improved position thereafter and, closing with a rush, was rapidly wearing the winner down in the final few yards. TOBY T. raced SAMOAN into defeat, took a brief lead leaving the back stretch, saved erounl and outfinished DIABROOM at the end. The latter made up ground. CHUCKLER tired. SAMOAN had brief speed. WORTHING, slow to settle in best stride, came to the outside entering the stretch and closed with a rush, but was unable to reach the leader. GRAND LIGHT saved ground steadily and closed gamely to the end. SPEAK faltered after forcing the early pace for a half mile. FAIR ELISE was never prominent. FAIR tired badly. VAN NUYS, under stout restraint the first half mile, was sent to the leader on the outside entering the stretch and hung in the drive. REBEL YELL closed gamely on the outside through the final quarter mile. MISTER JACKO, unruly at the start, was sent to the outside of the stalls and, away slowly, trailed to the half mile, then closed with a rush. STACK ARMS faltered through the final quarter mile. WIMBLEDON sprinted to the lead in the run to the first turn, drew away through the back stretch, flosed gamely and just failed to last. GRAND VIEW broke fast, but was shuffled back sharply going to the first turn, then made up ground. SHICAHRI, slow to settle in best stride, came from far back in the final half mile. INDIGNANT, well placed throughout, had no mishaps. MISS GORMLEY was carried wide at the first turn, moved up on the outside in the back stretch, then dropped back sharply leaving the back tretrh.
