BUDDIE TREACY, forwardly placed from the start and always clear as he was kept on the outside, was under vigorous riding after a half mile, held on with determination and got up in the last few strides. ROYAL BROOM took command quickly, made the pace easily to the last three-sixteenths and held on gamely under a drive, but was not good enough. SILVER BRAID was under strong urging throughout and showed an even effort. GRECIAN TIME closed fast on the extreme outside. RON was held safe. CHIEF MENTEUR quit under a drive in the last quarter. DING BIN, away fast, worked his way clear in the first three-sixteenths, went out approaching the turn, was returned to the inside sharply and, benefited by interference to BROAD LIGHTS and ROSUN. quickly increased his advantage, swerved under pressure in the stretch and tired in the late stages, but held BROAD LIGHTS safe. The latter had speed from the start, recovered quickly aftr being cut off soon after reaching the turn, held on well in the drive and withstood PAULSONS bid. The latter raced wide, improved his position gradually after three-eighths and, finishing in resolute fashion, was wearing down BROAD LIGHTS. EP was on the inside throughout, could not get through in the stretch and, with room, might have finished closer up. ROSUN began well, suffered interference and gave way suddenly in the stretch, but was racing well at the end. DR. SMITH, away fast and having the most speed, drew out fast on the turn and held the race safe thereafter, but was under constant pressure in the final eighth, winning with little left. BOSTON SOUND raced wide, was under a snug hold for a half mile, closed well under strong handling and swerved slightly near the end. MOSS GAL, badly outrun for a half mile, swung to the outside in the stretch and, closing fast, was rapidly getting to the leaders. MY GRANDSON had no mishaps. CHISPA tired in the drive. PAY CHECK began fast, dropped bade on the turn and continued to retire in the stretch. LINCOLN FIELDS Continued from third page. TAKEN was a sharp factor from the outset, was under strong riding the last quarter and tired in the late stages. DON MOSS, cut off soon after the start, continued to drop back on the turn, came out in the stretch, but did not threaten. DECOURCY, away slowlv. lacked speed and was always far back. LABOR DAY, well up from the start, w?s taken to the inside in the first quarter, saved ground to the stretch and, coming out, made a determined bid, but could not get to the winner. The latter, rated alone under steady reserve to the final quarter, closed resolutely under light pressure and was slowly cetting to the winner. CHANCE RAY, on the inside throughout, had speed from the start, did not rally to punishment after reaching the last five sixteenths and faltered slightly in the late stages. SOME COUNT ran an even race. MANTE OHARA, away slowly, was not persevered with for almost three-quarters, did not respond when called upon and was never a serious factor. POLANTE SETH, always clear, raced under strong restraint while forcine the pace, took command on the stretch turn, was placed to pressure to hold his advantaee after straightening out in the final quarter and, holding on gamely, just lasted. FLAMING PLAY, rated under strong restraint to the final quarter, closed stronely under pressure and mieht have eotten up in a few more strides. HEREWARD, on the inside throughout, made the early pace under restraint and foueht it out stubbornly in the drive. LADY FITZ saved ground to the final half mile, did not rally to strong urging when racing wide thereafter, yet held on fairly well. FAIR YOLTA could not get up. CANTRIP remained far out of it for seven-eighths, came with eood belated speed thereafter, was directed between horses in the final eighth and outfinished TRISTRAP. The latter, a factor from the start, dropped back sliehtly on the stretch turn, but closed well through the last three-sixteenths.
