TORONTO, Ont., June 24.— Kings Crest, gelded son of Spey Pearl and Jean Crest, which performs for C. G. McCullagh, Toronto patron, set his own pace in the Dufferin Park Purse, special feature of the final days program at Dufferin Park, to win by a length. The Empress Stables Tommy Rose raced to second place, a length off the winner and a length and one-half before Mrs. J. Badames Trey. Dark Revue, Rowes Crump and Brass Bottle completed the field. After a slight delay at the barrier, starter Clark sent them away in perfect order with the exception of Dark Revue, which broke in the air. Meanwhile jockey Kilgore, as- tride the winner, had his charge away to a short lead over Trey, and these positions were maintained to the mile mark, where Tommy Rose began to close in on the leader. Reaching the stretch, the McCullagh gelding was still in the lead, with Trey giving way to the fast-closing Tommy Rose. Kings Crest managed to hold his position to the finish, while Tommy Rose was well clear of Trey.
