HAMILTON, Ont., June 24.— Suffern, bay four-year-old son of Sweepster — Saffron, carried the light and dark blue silks of H. C. Hatch to an easy triumph in the running of the six furlongs Hamilton Spectator Handicap. Shouldering the top impost of 120 pounds and ridden by F. Madeley, the Hatch star raced the six furlongs in 1:12% and led by a three and one-half lengths margin at the end. Mona Bell, from the Cosgrave Stable, raced to second place, a length and one-half before J. H. Logans Rural Mail. H. R. Bains Cease Fire was a neck back and a head before P. Mecklenburgs Hittie, the remaining starter. , The handicap was riddled with scratches and from the original nine overnight entrants only five faced the issue. Sea Cadet was unable to get to the Hamilton course from Dufferin Park, while Penabud was not granted permission to start following the claim at Dufferin by A. J. Halliwell. A crowd of more than 10,000 witnessed the running. The track was in a fast condition, with ideal weather prevailing. Following the running Mrs. W. J.
