LATONIA, Ky., June 24.— Mucho Gusto, Arabs Arrow, Torchy and Sortie Star head the list of nominations for the Inaugural Handicap, ,500 added feature of the opening program at Latonia next Thursday. This stake, to be contested at a mile and one-sixteenth, is the first of seven to be presented during the twenty-seven days of racing at the local course and it should attract a large field. Arabs Arrow, Torchy and Sortie Star are to be campaigned at Latonia throughout the meeting, while Mucho Gusto, now in Chi- cago, is likely to be shipped here for local stakes engagements. He is eligible for sev- eral of them. Northern Kentucky and greater Cincinnati turf fans are familiar with the records of these four stars, and their presence in the Inaugural field would give it much strength. WELL-KNOWN PERFORMERS. Among other well known handicap per-1 formers named for this opening-day feature are Neighbor, Don Moss, Janice, Southland Beau, Sweet Adeline, Busy Morn, Miss Sarah, Saunderstown, Blue Trace and John Francis. All of Latonias stakes drew heavy sub-• scription lists, auguring well for the success and attractiveness of the racing at the local course. Weights for the Inaugural Handicap will be announced early next week, at which time the actual complexion of the field will take definite shape. Other stakes on the local program are the Independence Handicap, Cincinnati Trophy, Charity Day Handicap, Quickstep Handicap, Enquirer Handicap and a feature yet to be announced for the closing day of the meeting, July 29.
