Seven Sprinters Clash In Detroit Sprint Event Jobsrown, Bubbling Easy and Dicks Gal to Match Strides FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 29. Seven better class sprinters, most of whom have been performing in topnotch company, ha ye been assembled to provide the headliner for the mid-week program at this border course and the contest is brimful of action as several of the rivals have shown excellent promise. The feature is a dash of six furlongs titled the Eddie Tribe and is under allowance conditions for a prize of ,000. The fourth and sixth races, fashioned under claiming conditions for horses valued at about ,000 are the best of the supporting races with the former at six furlongs and the latter at one mile and a sixteenth. In the Eddie Tribe, Jobstown from the stable of I. J. Collins, has earned the right for consideration in a field of this calibre. While the son of Unbreakable was soundly trounced by Johns Pride when second in his latest engagement, he had speed to set all the early pace and may last long enough to take top honors here. Certain to provide the stiffest sort of competition is D. C. Wilhelms Bubbling Easy who set all the pace to turn back her opposition rather handily in her most recent essay. That score was registered over a muddy racing strip and should similar conditions exist for the feature, she is certain to make her presence felt. Quite capable of upsetting calculations is Dicks Gal from the stable of Mrs. E. Far-ris. The fleet daughter of Port au Prince has had only one race over this course this season and finished a creditable fourth to Mons Boy. She should benefit by that effort to come to this engagement thoroughly fit and ready. Mons Boy, who races for Mrs. Harry M. Goldstine, earned recognition for his chance by his good score recently. While he was fortunate in securing room on the inside to save ground in accomplishing his victory, he is obviously in top shape and his latest engagement in the Border City can be discounted as he found himself easily overmatched. A keen disappointment to local patrons this season has been David Fergusons speedy Ariel Ace who has been unable to tally in three local tries. The son of Ariel has a flight of high speed that generally finds him in front as far as he goes and he may be coaxed to last Jong enough against these adversaries. Mrs. Lottie Wolfs Bahram filly Mayram has been rounding to her best form gradually and is by no means outclassed in the very evenly-matched assembly. A creditable third to Diamond Dick and Memphis Bud at last asking and a fast-finishing fourth against top sprinters in the LaSalle Handicap in her previous outing, she would not occasion too much surprise by a tally here. The field in the Tribe is completed by Mrs. B. Hernandez Silvers Price, a winner earlier at the meeting who found his rivals too formidable in the Border City and the LaSalle Handicaps.
