HANDY LAD, away alertly and never far back, assumed command entering the stretch and gamely withstood a brisk drive to hold GOLD PROXY safe. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, came determinedly when set down in the stretch, but could not overtake the winner. POLITICS, on the outside to the final quarter, closed gamely under punishment. ALUMINIO II. lacked early speed, but finished fast in the middle of the track. CREDENTIALS could not keep up early, but closed well under vigorous handling. ZACADOW went to the front before going a quarter, made the pace to the stretch, then weakened. INVERETTE failed to stay after racing prominently to the stretch. BOLO PAT could not keep up. FANCY DOG, between horses during the first half, tired during the stretch run. WASP WAIST was never dangerous. BESSIE VANCE was outrun. SUTTER BUTTE showed nothing. STYLE QUEEN, away alertly, raced with KIBBITZ to the stretch, disposed of the latter and continued gamely under punishment to withstand MARQUISETTE. The latter, slow to begin, steadily improved her position to the stretch, came out for the drive and finished fast, but could not overtake the winner, although probably best. PLEASEMENOW raced evenly to the stretch, was forced wide on the final turn and closed willingly under brisk handling. KIBBITZ assumed an early lead, made the pace until Inside the stretch while engaging STYLE QUEEN, then faltered during the late stages. HIGH MAYER went wide entering the stretch and could not threaten when straightened for the drive. BARBARA K. gave way after racing prominently to the stretch. LUCKY RUN was never dangerous. EASY TWIST tired. CLOSURE did not like the muddy track. LAWYER SLOPE was through early. LA CARMELITA raced greenly. EASY INNING, forward ly placed from the start, responded to good handling during the stretch run and wore down CHOICE CUT in the last sixteenth. CHOICE CUT went to the front approaching the stretch and continued willingly during the drive, but was unable to withstand the winner. MARSE GEORGE could not get to the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. FLYING DISC dwelt at the start, then made up ground steadily when in stride. MILLS BENNETT, away slowly, was hustled to the front soon after the start and raced with CHOICE CUT to the stretch, then weakened. SMASHER could not keep up. GREAT DOCTOR did not like the muddy track. MERRY WALTZ tired during the drive. OUR SLOGAN was through early. GAY DEFENDER began sluggishly and raced, greenly. DEBABY went to the front at once, made the pace until near the finish, drifted out while tiring and could not withstand the winner; KILAYR, never far back, closed gamely in a good effort. DAME DAMION made up ground steadily, but could not reach the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. WAR AMBER came to the inside for the drive, but could not better her position when subjected to punishment. BALAWAY, fractious during the post parade, could not threaten during the running. ALPHO began slowly and was never prominent. BOW BUNTING drifted out entering, the stretch. STEPINFOX gave way after racing well to the stretch. SOME RELIEF was through early. ROSEMERE CHIEF raced evenly to the stretch and could not get to the leaders when set down In the drive. MARLOBAR raced well until inside the stretch, then faltered. I LOV BRIDGE lacked early speed. TRI STEP, far back and outrun early, moved up boldly approaching the stretch and finished fast, but could not overtake the winner. SHOWDOWN held on well and had no mishap. PENNON failed to respond when set down for the drive. EXECUTION broke alertly, but could not keep up.
