Appeal Lament Decision NEW YORK, N. Y., June 559. William Seligson, attorney for Daniel Lamont, who was denied an owners license in this state by joint board consisting of the New York Racing Commission and two stewards of The Jockey Club, is preparing to carry the case into the Supreme Court, New York County. He stated today that he will file the necessary papers before the end of the week, begging the court to review the decision by the turf authorities and annul it on the grounds that the evidence presented against Lamont was not competent. "The entire proceedings were highly improper," said Seligson. "The testimony was largely hearsay of the worst kind." The joint board ruled that Lamont "is or recently has been engaged in bookmaking" and in consequence The Jockey Club acted properly in denying him an owners license.
