Apprentice Roser Injured While Playing Softball ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, HI., June 29. Apprentice jockey Gilbert Eugene Roser of Cincinnati, Ohio, was Injured here today while playing softball in the paddock back of the Arlington clubhouse. Roser was chasing a fly ball when he struck the paddock rail and, after he was examined at the track hospital, was sent to an Elgin hospital. Roser complained of chest pains and it was thought that the young reinsman may have suffered some broken ribs. Roser, who is 24 years old, is under contract to P. J. Valenti, New Orleans turfman.
