QUEEN OF ROSES was slow to settle in her stride, but improved her position on the. outside and, under pressure, disposed of LAUREL ROAD in the final drive. The latter was hustled into command, showed speed while saving ground, but tired badly and swerved in the final furlong. VARODI was well up from the start and, under pressure, outlasted EMPTY NOOSE. The latter dropped back in the early stages, was sent up on the outside and finished well. MEFLY had no excuse. POCONO tired from chasing the early pace. WEXFORD refused to break. PARHELION was steadied along in the early running, was forced wide on the stretch turn, but, under pressure,.finished fast, bumped HARD FACTS Inside the final furlong and got up in the last strides. HARD FACTS forced the pace from the start, assumed command entering the stretch, but drifted out, then came again under pressure. SYNTET was sent between the leaders going to the far turn, but tired at the end. PUNCHESTOWN was sluggish in the early stages, but made up some ground to outlast SWEET PEGOTTY. FONDA was kept in a forward position in the running, moved up with a rush to assume command, responded to pressure in the late stages and held his opposition safe. GUNBOATS was steadied along early, saved ground in the late stages and finished well. MR. MAN moved up with a rush, made a determined bid going to the final fence, swerved slightly and faltered. BIG BID closed well in the late stages. TOP KNOT had early speed and tired. RISE TO FOLLOW showed speed for the first half mile. The latter appeared to climb in the early stages and was outrun, but improved his position on the Inside, swerved nearing the final furlong, then hung under pressure. HYPERHELIO was close to the early pace and held on well In the late stages. OCEAN PLAY was sent up fast rounding to the stretch turn, then faltered. MY MALCHA, in pursuit of the early pace, tired badly in the late stages. FLAME OF INDIA, on the outside for the stretch run, had no mishap. BROADALBIN -was unable to keep up. BETHS BOMB had no mishap.
