Nine sophomores have been named overnight with eight different interests represented. Mrs. J. Kelleys entry of Chaltrick and Go Between appear well placed in the field of which no less than four are still maidens. Chaltrick graduated from the non-win-t ner ranks in her last start at the local track, «easily defeating Mocha and Long Hill. That triumph also represented the only start made by the daughter of Challe-1 don this year. Glenn Felkner brought Chaltrick up here from New York last summer and ran her against such perform- ers as Loridale and Test Pattern. Some-I thing evidently went wrong with the mis** as the next time she appeared under silks was as Jamaica last October, at which time she carried a ,000 price tag. Well re-[ garded in the wagering, Chaltrick failed to run to expectations and was sent back with the same caliber a couple of weeks later. That race was her best of the 1950 season and she didnt make another appearance until here last week. It is possible that Kelley has made a bargain purchase be- cause she was certainly an improved sprinter in her seasonal debut. J. J. Messinas Summer Cruise has been meeting much better than she will encounter in tomorrows race. True, the Olympic Zenith filly has won only one race 12 starts over the two seasons she has raced but in a couple of stakes in New England last year, she gave promise of budding into a useful sprinter. Summer Cruise is listed to carry equal weights with Chaltrick, 109 pounds, but she will have show improvement over her two starts this year to extend Chaltrick. Go Between still is seeking his initial victory but has one race to his credit at Hialeah Park last winter, finishing third, which stamps him as a good stablemate for the top choice. Claimed for ,000 at Tropical Park last winter, the Market Wise gelding will be making his fourth start for Mrs. Kelley and needs only to continue the steady improvement he has shown to enter picture in this field. The others which comprise the feature Rissas Son, Whit Whiz, Miss Margo. Theatre Pass, Gay Prince and Hod Crown.
