TOOMBA alertly went to the front from between horses on the far turn, steadily widened on the field under mild pressure and won with something left. UP HIGH began fast, could not stay with the winner while on the inside and weakened, but lasted to hold the others safe. TEN STONE raced between horses, lugged in badly in the drive and could not be effectively ridden out. SCOBEYVILLE circled very wide around horses and finished well HELLS GLEN raced outside SCOBEYVILLE, losing considerable ground, and turned in a good effort. BIT AGAIN faltered SINGLETON began poorly. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. ISLE OF PEACE was hustled along in closest attendance to the pace, steadily wore down KALLUKI in the stretch run and was going away from that one at the finish. KALLUKI was urged into a very long lead rounding the turns and appeared safely in front entering the final furlong, but suddenly faltered. BUDDIE SWEEP, away sluggishly, raced on the extreme outside while steadily making up ground and finished fast in the middle of the track. KROESETTE raced prominently placed, but was not a menace. ZIPPER was taken under light restraint after a swift beginning, raced with the first flight on the outside quickly wrested command when urged and drew out to win handily. HELEN WIN-K was alertly hustled to the pace at the start, gained a short lead from the inside on the stretch turn, but was not good enough for the winner. NOTTIN drove to the front from the outside between calls, then faltered in the final run. CAMPER began slowly and was outrun for a half mile, then closed with a belated rush between horses in the stretch run. KONTINU made up ground late. ON GUARD had no excuse. ROSE POLL lacked clear racing in the drive. SENOR-HYGRO was unable to reach the front early and dropped back steadily in a poor effort. THOMAS EDWARD was unprepared for the start. FANCY TALK, allowed to settle In best stride, was sent forward on the outside on the turns, swerved wide into the stretch, but was quickly straightened and rapidly wore down the leaders to win going away. FLYING POLLY was energetically hustled to shake free from ANN DEL, opened a commanding lead after three furlongs and held sway into the final furlong, then weakened and just lasted to best OLLIE T. The latter was under intermittent pressure and finished determinedly between horses. ANN DEL began alertly, but could not outsprint FLYING POLLY and weakened. FRAUD was outrun. OCCUPANCY, confidently ridden and under restraint while saving ground and holding a narrow advantage, readily responded when roused through the final furlong and gradually drew clear. MR. BOOTS was occasionally punished trying to wrest command from OCCUPANCY and drifted slightly wide under the whip in the last stages. BENBOW raced on the outside of the leaders and within easy striking distance, was forced wide in the drive and finished evenly. IRISH GAME was outrun. PALATIAL APPETITE, much the best, worked forward between horses to take command while in hand on the far turn, then remained under restraint while drawing out to a long lead. TARPORT KID was outrun and trailing early, circled wide rallying after a half mile and finished well to easily best the others. THIERCELIN, blocked sharply by OCTAVIAS DAUGHTER on the first turn, could not again reach the leaders under strong hustling and tired. TERRYS CANE showed good early speed, but tired. DEEP TEXAS was under strong pressure while vying for the pace with OPERATOR, disposed of that one on the stretch turn and then continued evenly while being ridden out. JUMP FOR JOY saved ground making up distance from a slow beginning, came out slightly for the drive and finished gamely. LATE SHIP, outrun and trailing early, rallied strongly on the turns, but could not carry her speed in the last stages. OPERATOR saved ground setting the pace under urging and faltered when headed after six furlongs. SUPERBA was punished by hand when the rider lost his whip, but she showed nothing. LUXURIANT, closer to the pace than usual under intermittent rousing, rapidly came around the leaders to assume command on the final turn and increased her advantage while winning handily. WARRIOR PRINCE, sluggish and far back for a half mile, came between horses in the drive and finished fast. TEDDY TARN, in close quarters and shuffled about on the first turn, remained with the pace, but could not move with the winner when called upon and weakened. PEACELAW was well placed, but tired.
