Camerons Statement Not Authorized by HBP A ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 26. — It was reported today that Robert B. Cameron, who wrote this newspaper supporting the proposed tax increase on Illinois race tracks and the limitation on stall allocations to out-of-state owners, spoke without the authority of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association. Cameron signed himself secretary of the Illinois Thoroughbred Owners and Trainers Association and of the HBPA. It develops that while he is secretary of the Illinois group, he lacked authorization to involve the HBPA in the matter. William Hal Bishop, who is acting vice-president of the central division of the HBPA in the absence of Joseph. Kohout, is calling a committee meeting to disclaim responsibility for Camerons action.
