SWEENEY GRANT Staff Correspondent ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 26. — The Inaugural Running of the Warren Wright Memorial Stakes here tomorrow attracted a bulky field of 21 sophomores to contest the seven-furlong distance. The distance of the headliner apparently found favor with many trainers as several sprinters are named to engage those who favor a longer route. Just what the race will do to unravel the tangled ranking of three-year-olds will be decided by actual running. The Warren Wright honors the memory of the late owner of the famed Calumet Farm breeding and racing establishments, and it is expected to become a permanent member of the rich local stakes program. Jumbo drew No. 2 post position and his keen early lick may find him spurting clear of trouble in the opening few yards. Under the conditions of the race he is asked to shoulder 114 pounds. Calumet is represented by Fanfare- and Jennie Lee. Fanfare will have none the best of it, as he drew outside post position. The son of Bull Lea accounted for the Derby Trial rather convincingly but has done little since then in the way recommendation. Ben Jones has him right on edge as attested by trials, and he should have no difficulty handling 114 pounds. Jennie Lee is razor sharp at present and she was not disgraced in her recent second to Sickles Image in the Cleopatra. Clarence Hartwicks Sickles Image is a hard-hitting filly who compels seriious consideration in any kind of company. Her sterling record speaks for itself, and her gameness is unquestioned. To Market displayed a fondness for the footing at this track last season when he was able to capture the Arlington Futurity in addition to the Washington Futurity. His best effort this season was his success at last asking. Ruhe won the Arkansas Derby and Keenelands Blue Grass Stakes after Sonic was set back, then finished third in the Kentucky Derby. To Market will race coupled with King Ranchs Black Douglas, lightweight among the colts under 110 pounds. Sam E. Wilson, Jr., will be represented by Royal Mustang and Bugledrums, and this pair must be considered a serious threat. Bugledrums will be making his seasonal debut at this track, but is reported fit and ready. Royal Mustang has been a hardhitting sort while failing to gather top money in his big stakes engagements. Hi$ efforts in the Kentucky Derby and later in the Belmont were commendable, as was his second to Pur Sang in the Peabody Memorial. Prominent among others who merit consideration in the headliner are Ada L. Rices Vincent X.
