SEPHORA reached closer contention steadily and secured room on the inside entering the stretch to save ground, disposed of the leaders and was drawing out under pressure. CURIOUS REWARD, forwardly placed from the beginning, went to the outside on the turn and closed well. URBANITE lacked early speed, but closed fast. KISSABLE raced closest to the early pace, made a strong bid to take command briefly in the stretch, then faltered. OPEN WAY, sluggish to the stretch, finished fast. CHAR S. V. raced evenly, but could not threaten. MISS SMARTY flashed early speed to set the pace, but quit. Overweight— Curious Reward, 3 pounds; Urbanite, 2; Kissable, 2; Sleek Hand, 5. DEVIL DUST, sluggish early while trailing, was sent between horses to improve his position entering the stretch, went to the inside for the drive and was up in the final few yards. MESCARA reached closer contention quickly on the turn, went to the outside for the drive, closed strongly and held on well. WHOSE lacked speed to race with the early pace, then finished with good courage. BIG BUSTER was in close quarters on the far turn, then closed well when clear. NAVY PILOT drove between horses to close ground in the final quarter. CUDDLESOME was rated in front to the final sixteenth, then quit. FERRY PILOT could not engage the leaders. BURGOO MASTER weakened after forcing all the pace. GOOD HOSTESS was done early. BILL BOY had speed from the start and took a clear lead on the backstretch, drew away through the stretch and was not fully extended. RUDDY BELLE, never far back and on the inside, continued gamely when challenged in the stretch, but was no match for the winner SCENE ONE, a stout factor from the start, held on well under pressure. WONDROUS WISE, always forwardlv placed, continued well when placed to a drive. BALSA was unable to engage the leaders. Overweight— Wondrous Wise, 2 pounds; John A. S., 3; Great Eagle, 1. Won driving; third the same. LEFT BANK was in a contending position from the beginning, responded to hard urging to take a short lead inside the sixteenth pole and just lasted to finish in a dead-heat for first with TIMUS. The latter was steadied back of the early pace, went to the outside for the drive, closed with a rush and was up in the final stride. VININA improved her position steadily, went to the eutside for the drive and finished well. BRIDGE rested close to the early pace, drove to the front in the stretch while on the inside, but weakened. WORTHY OPTION was going well at the end. HURRICANE weakened after forcing the early pace of PRINCE OF EVIL. QUEEN OF SILKS was not prominent. Scratched— 32176 Silver Senator, 111; Co Wisdom, 111. COFFEE MONEY, never far back, continued well CLEVELANDER raced evenly, but could not engage the leaders. VISIONAL took a clear lead early, gave way to the winner when challenged, then fell back gradually. VOLCANIC was not prominent. BULLISH showed nothing. LUTZ GIRL was sent to the front and rated there, saved ground, met the bid of the winner willingly, but was not good enough REIGHS COMET, under restraint early, was in close quarters on the far turn, then closed well when clear. CARMARGO BILL, slow to settle into full stride, was in close quarters on the far turn, then made up ground in the stretch. REBEL RAIDER raced evenly, but could not improve his position.
