Narragansett Park Officials Are Approved by Commission PAWTUCKET, R. I., June 26. — The Rhode Island State Racing Commission this morning approved the slate of officials to serve during the forthcoming meeting at Narragansett Park which starts next Monday. R. Norman Charlton and Leo ODonnell will serve as stewards. The latter replaces Keene Daingerfield who is one of the stewards at Arlington Park, HI. ODonnell is no stranger to Narragansett as he served as steward observer representing the HBPA in 1947 and 48 at this track. A steward representing the state is to be named. Leo McAloon, who has for many years served as inspector and steward for the state racing commission, will be assistant steward in charge of the totalisator control, replacing James H. Dooley who resigned because of pressure of business. Ty Shea remains as racing secretary, Henry J. Carroll, Harry E. Fiske and Edward T. Dooley, placing judges; V. F. Mara and Arthur Hunt, paddock judges; James Butwell, William J. Canning and Paul As-prinio, patrol judges; Kenneth W. Mcintosh, clerk of scales; Vincent Mara, timer; G. R. "Buddy" Wingfield, starter; Dr. E. J. Cole, veterinarian; William J. Jubb, director of mutuels, and Fred Gruenwald, horse identifier.
